Description

The prototypes for the Rapido Trains HO Scale Class H-1a and H-1b 4-6-4Hudson locos with sound and DCC were state-of-the-art steam power whendelivered in 1929 and 1930. A total of twenty locos were delivered in twobatches of ten each. The first batch, numbers #2800-2809, were delivered in1929 and classified H1a. The second ten, numbers #2810-2819, were deliveredin 1930 and were classified H1b. These locomotives were used on mainlinepassenger trains across the CP's system. These locomotives were sosuccessful that CP used their design as the basis for its later H c/d/eRoyal Hudsons seven years later. Both classes survived intact until the endof steam, with the first retirements not coming until 1957. These HO Scalereplicas feature roadnumber-specific factory-applied details separatelyapplied metal hand rails and grabs, blackened wheels and driving rods,correct cylinders and valve gear; a smooth-running drive train, correctcoal tenders for regular service units and a correct oil tender for #2816.The Class H-1a and H-1b 4-6-4 Hudsons come equipped with a sound and DCCdecoder and have a recommended curve radius of 22" or larger.
