As a result of this reform, the Bavarian army received standardized uniforms, and from 1799, efforts were made to significantly improve the glazing and the completion of individual units. It is worth noting that the line infantry at that time was reduced to 10 regiments, the Jäger regiments were also dissolved and 4 light infantry battalions were created from them. The cavalry, on the other hand, consisted of 3 hussar regiments, 2 dragoons regiments and as many cuirassier regiments. It is assumed that as a result of changes and reforms in 1790-1799, the Bavarian army was one of the best in Germany at the beginning of the 19th century. It is worth remembering that while in 1800 Bavaria fought alongside the Habsburg army against Napoleon, in the 1805 campaign it was already a Napoleonic ally, and its army turned out to be a very difficult opponent for the Austrian army. The Bavarian army also played quite a role in the 1809 campaign that ended on the Battle of Wagram. In the course of the Russian campaign of 1812, the Bavarian army lost approximately 29,000 men - of the 33,000 who marched on Moscow. In 1813, Bavaria joined the anti-Napoleonic coalition, and its troops took part, among others, in the Battle of Hanau. In 1814, at the end of the Napoleonic Wars, the Bavarian army consisted of, inter alia, a guard regiment, 16 line infantry regiments, two jegrim battalions, 7 light cavalry regiments, 1 lancer regiment and two foot artillery regiments.
