Description
The Northrop F-20 Tigershark
is an international fighter aircraft created to compete with the Soviet export fighter MIG-23/-27, and
was originally called the F-5G.
The F-5E's twin J81 engine was replaced with a single F404 engine, but
thrust was increased by 60%, and speed/acceleration performance and maneuverability were significantly improved.
The radar fire control system is also equipped with a higher-performance APG67
to improve combat capabilities in air-to-air, air-to-ground, and hand-to-hand combat.
