USAAF B-25B, The Battle of Midway, 80th Anniversary - Academy 12336
On April 18, 1942, sixteen USAAF B-25B Mitchell bombers took off from the aircraft carrier USS Hornet in waters off the coast of Japan in the legendary "Doolittle Raid". Of the airmen participating in the attack, only 69 returned. The bomber was named after General Billy Mitchell, a military aviation pioneer. This B-25B Mitchell from the U.S. Army, named Hari Kari-er, participated in the Doolittle Raid in 1942. This model of USAF B-25 bomber celebrates the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Midway. The finished 1/48 scale kit is 34cm long and 11cm tall.
