Description
Gambier Bay is a Casablanca class ship.
She is composed of the smallest scale capable of operating carrier-based aircraft, and
its structure is of a merchant ship type.
-50 ships of the same type have been built, and it
is also known that all 50 ships were mass-built in a year from the summer of 1943 at the proposal of the Kaiser Shipyard.
This ship was attacked and sunk by the Kurita fleet, led by the battleship Yamato,
during the Battle of Samar Island (October 25) during the Battle of Leyte Gulf from October 23 to 26, 1944 . She can be said to be a valuable US escort aircraft carrier that fought against the battleship Yamato, as her actual combat experience with the battleship Yamato is very limited.
