About the actual vehicle:
The Panzer III was first completed in 1937, just before World War II, and continued to serve as the main tank for the German armored divisions throughout the mid-war period.
Various types emerged as it was continuously improved and produced.
The main gun evolved from a 3.7 cm gun to a 5 cm gun and eventually to a 7.5 cm gun, while the armor of the chassis was also reinforced.
From the J model onwards, a new type of chassis with a basic armor thickness of 50mm at the front was adopted.
Additionally, even within the J model, the early versions were equipped with a 50mm gun of 42 calibers, while the later versions featured a long-barreled 50mm gun of 60 calibers.
The L model further reinforced the armor on the front of the turret.
Improvements were made, including the adoption of spaced armor.
Building on the L model, the M model enhanced amphibious capability.
The N model, produced between June 1942 and August 1943, was the last type of the Panzer III, equipped with a short-barreled 75mm gun, and played a significant role in fire support.
While many Panzer III tanks were produced, they eventually gave way to more powerful and larger vehicles, yet they continued to fight valiantly on various fronts until the end of World War II.
About the model:
This is a plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the Panzer III tank, which was mass-produced and deployed by the German army during World War II, in 1/56 scale.
You can choose to assemble one of four types: the later models J, L, M, or N.
Parts are provided that reflect the differences in gun barrels and armor among the types.
You can clearly distinguish these differences in your assembly.
The finished model will measure approximately 122mm in length.
Its palm-sized dimensions offer a substantial presence, making it enjoyable to collect.
The upper body of the tank is represented as a single piece.
Separate parts for tools are provided to enhance the three-dimensional feel of the finished model.
Additionally, the turret hatch is a separate part that showcases detailed reproduction.
The commander's hatch can be opened or closed, and a commander figure is included.
The lower part of the chassis features sidewall parts that integrate the road wheels.
Moreover, the tracks are represented in two split parts, top and bottom.
