This is a magnificent model worthy of display. The details and workmanship are far beyond what I expected when I saw it in the website. I look forward to actually looking at it closer to really take it all in.

This shovel was a little more than I wanted to spend but its place in history sold me. The details are tremedously intricate and many of the moving parts move like silk. A wonderfully designed and manufactured piece of modeling. It will go on disply first, but only until I can figure out where to putit in the lay out. Well done!!

While this is a unique model of a truly unique and historic piece of construction equipment that laid the foundation for all such equipment to follow, execution by the manufacturer, Toy Trucker, was mediocre, at best. First off, the reversing gear actuation lever was loose in the package. I had to figure out from the FDH promo photos of the model with the "house" off where the lever was located and attach it appropriately. Second, the shovel rotation cable was not set properly on the winding spool, so the shovel only rotated 90 degrees, from slightly left of center to full right, and was quite stiff while rotating. I had to remove the "house" to address this problem, whereupon I discovered another problem, namely, the outermost oil line for the boiler burners had not been installed properly. Once I did (very painstakingly) get the "house" off, I was able, again using the FDH promo photos, to properly install the burner oil line (including making a missing "elbow" from paper clip wire) and rewind the shovel rotation cable (quite challenging due to "hot melt" adhesive bonding the cable to the spool) so that the shovel now smoothly rotates full left to full right. I now have a very nice, fully-functional model, but I had to "bust my hump" to get it there. At this price point, Toy Trucker really should have much better quality control in place at the factory in China.
