Description
USAF B-47, 306th BW(M) - Academy 12618
The Boeing B-47 Stratojet was introduced in 1951 as an all-jet supplement to the Strategic Air Command's B-36 fleet. Faster and more maneuverable than the B-36, the Stratojet could carry 25,000 pounds of bombs including nuclear weapons. The B-47 never saw combat but served in front-line duty until 1965. This 1/144th scale model of the B-47 features engraved panel lines and markings for seven aircraft including three of the McDill aircraft featured in the 1955 movie "Strategic Air Command" with Jimmy Stewart.
