Description
Messerschmitt Bf109 G-6/G-2, JG27 - Academy 12321
The Bf-109E was the first German 109 series aircraft to be mass-produced. Sometimes, the aircraft has been mistakenly referred to as a Me-109. The abbreviation, “Bf”, stands for Bayerische Flugzeugwerke or, in English, "Bavarian Aircraft Works". 1938 Messerschmitt acquired the Bavarian Aircraft Works, but the Bf-109E retained the "Bf" registration. At the end of 1939, the Bf-109E replaced the other 109 versions in service and equipped thirteen Gruppens (40 Bf-109Es each). The aircraft served as the primary single-engine fighter until the arrival of the Fw-190. This model recreates the Bf 109 version G-6 or G-2 as flown with "JG27" with eight marking options. This 1/48 scale diecast is 17.8cm long and has a wingspan of 21cm.
