Cabooses and express cars often had leaf springs, but finding the right trucks with leaf springs is not always easy. I may need more of these.
Modern fork lifts have a roll cage, but I model 1947 and these look like earlier machines with no safety equipment. Just what I need.

There are no known photos of 45 chemical tank cars owned by a small company my great grandfather started but these cars seem close. With somewhat imaginary custom decals these cars will become those cars.
Bachmann claims they got the plans for this car from the New York Central Systems Historical Society, but communications broke down somewhere along the line. It seems to be closest to an order of cars built by MDT for American Express and inherited by REA. Some soldiered on for REA into at least the 1960s. I plan to use this model as a starting point for kit-bashing a more accurate version. For my needs it’s perfect.
