Description
Southern Railway
This Model Power 4-6-0 Mogul with sound and DCC is based on locomotives developed as railroads began moving from four- to six-wheel steam power. The 2-6-0 Mogul was soon a favorite for heavier freight work. Although quickly replaced by bigger and more powerful designs, some railroads found the combination of light weight and good pulling power was ideal for branches and heavy switching chores. This engine is typical of the last 2-6-0s built around WWI that ran into the 1950s on some roads.
This model comes equipped sound and DCC and is equipped with a five-pole Mashima motor with flywheel for smooth operation, a die cast boiler for added weight, separately applied metal handrails, golden white LED and factory-installed traction tire for good pulling power. Other features include roadname-specific details, front and rear knuckle couplers, LED wiring to tender, 4-4-0 pony truck pickup and extra weight in tender. Sound features are rendered in 16-bit format and feature a choice of 17 whistles, eight bells and 10 different chuff sounds. The sound and DCC decoder features back EMF for extra smooth operation.
