Description
This is a plastic 1/72 P-51B Mustang Airplane made by Academy Plastics.
It's for experienced modelers.
The first Allison powered P-51's were good airplanes, yet they lacked high
altitude effectiveness against bomber escorts. That changed when the basic
P-51 airframe was mated with a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine to create the P-51B.
This engine change resulted in a superb aircraft which many argue helped to
change the course of WWII.
Detailed 1/72 kit for static display only.
65 parts in green and clear with fine recessed panel lines.
Accurately captures features of P-51B: razorback fuselage, wing, and
canopy.
Cockpit includes seat, floor, radio rack, instrument panel with
raised detail.
Separate exhaust stacks - 2 styles included.
108 gal paper drop tank and rocket tubes included.
Standard and Malcolm Hood canopies - both can be posed open or
closed.
Detailed landing gear and wheel wells.
