One of the most famous ships in maritime history is H.M.S. Bounty, made famous by the daring mutiny on this sailing ship. In 1787, Captain William Bligh was commissioned by King George III to use the Bounty to bring bread cargo trees from Tahiti to the West Indies. Captain Bligh rules with an iron hand, repeatedly cutting the crew's rations. On April 28, 1789, the famous mutiny occurs, Bligh and 18 faithful are abandoned in a boat and return to England after a long odyssey. The remaining crew decides to stay in the region and settles on Pitcairn Island, far from the shipping routes. In order not to be discovered, the Bounty was then burned by the former crew in 1790.
